where was I, election night 2008, when Obama won?

in my apartment a few blocks away from where he lives.

hell yeah, bitchez

on a more serious note, i'm very happy with this result. it doesn't affect me as much as the americans with tears in their eyes, but i think it's a pretty foregone conclusion that the american presidential election affects us all. i'm just proud to be in the midst of all this change, all this history. his speech was incredibly moving, and i feel like finally electing an african american president sets a precedent for more acceptance, more change and more diversity in America and hopefully eventually in the rest of the world. people try to skirt around the race issue - but we can't deny it, this race issue is important and the fact that a black man won tonight means so many things that were unimaginable to so many people not more than 50 years ago.

i've been taking a black theatre class this quarter, and it amazes me how much racial history has occurred in chicago, and how many historical race plays we've staged here. it makes me proud, and i'm glad here.
